Q. Who are you?
A. My name is Laura Lee… I’m a mix of a lot. Half Venezuelan and part Dutch, English, Norwegian, German. Born in the states, grew up in California and in Cartagena, Colombia in South America. Came back to the states to go to College and have been in New Jersey ever since. Got my degree and became a graphic designer, 2 years ago I decided to follow my dream and became a Plus Size model.

Q. Laure Lee in 3 words…
A. Loud, Crazy & Fun

Q. What makes you happy?
A. I’m such a positive person that just about anything puts a smile on my face. I just love life and everything in it. Laughing is probably the thing I do the most. If you surround yourself with positive people and things nothing can get you down.

Q. Do you feel as if you are an accomplished women?
A. I do!!! I’ve traveled to many places and everything that I’ve seen and been through has made me the person I am today. I just want to learn, see and do more, its like I cant get enough.

Q. When did you decide to become a model? Why? How?
A. It was always a dream, a thought that kept circling in my head since I was a little girl. To be honest I never thought it would come true. For years friends and family would tell me you need to try, but I was scared and thought that you needed to be a certain height and weight and shape to be one. Soooo years past and Instagram came along and I started to post my daily outfits (OOTD) and slowly I started to get featured on a few pages. One day Honor (Honormycurves) posted a picture of me and her beautiful words gave me that last push I needed to attempt this modeling career. That week I attending my 1st casting ever to be the new face of ManikMag.com Anddddd to my surprise I was chosen. I was on cloud nine. We did our first holiday shoot and 6 days after it was published an agency approached me and I signed with Bicoastal MGMT. I’ve been with them every since and the clients keep growing and growing, I couldn’t be happier.

Q. What do you think about the expression plus size?
A. Plus is who I am, its what my body is. I am proud to have these curves, and this little extra BAM. It makes me ME!

Q. What do you think about the plus size fashion world?
A. Its growing, hallelujahhhhh!!! Companies are finally starting to see that plus size woman and men want to look amazing in fabulous trends. I’m not one to hide this body, and I’m constantly looking for designers who make clothing in my size. Once I put an outfit together I share it on my IG and FB pages, to give women ideas, show them where to find great pieces. Growing up, I saw skinny women in magazines wearing clothes I could never buy because they didn’t make them in my size. NOW THEY DO, WOOOOP!

Q. What do you think‐know about the plus size fashion industry in The United States? And in France? in Europe?
A. It’s growing fast, in all places. I think Ashley Graham finally made the mark in the US, so we (PLUS WOMEN) can be seen and that you can be beautiful at any size. WE ARE HERE PEOPLE, ARE YOU READY!!! Society/media show us what they think we should see and be, and you either listen to them or BE YOU! I’m me, with all my extra pounds, cellulite and curves.

Q. Which woman‐women/man‐men inspire(s) you?
A. I’m inspired by people who motivate others to do and be better, from the Plus size
model encouraging others, to the young girl in Texas that turned what bullies were
doing to her into something positive. People who help the homeless and not to get a pat on the back but because it comes from the heart, mothers and fathers that work two jobs so their kids can have everything, to the girl who travels the world building homes for the needed. That is what inspires me to be a better person.

Q. Who is your muse?
A. So many to choose from, but at the moment it is Joby Bach. The woman is Bananas, beyond beautiful!

Q. What would you say to those women who don’t accept their own body?
A. It’s all in your head; once you love yourself and love what you see in the mirror your life will change drastically. Those negative thoughts you tell yourself will fade and the confidence will show. YOU CAN DO IT!

Q. What is‐are your dream(s)?
A. I’m living it! Whatever way my life goes from now on I can say “I followed my heart and took a chance!”

Q. What do you want more than everything?
A. I just want to know I lived my life to fullest, that I did everything and saw every place I wanted to see. I don’t want to be 80 thinking I could of, should of, would of. I want to look back at my life and tell my grandkids that I LIVED! Live, laugh and love.

XOXO Laura Lee!
